Happy Anniversary

Hello Blog World.

It's Thursday night which means tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which means weekend to craft WOOHOO!!!

I mentioned last post there was a couple of challenges I wanted to enter so it's short and sweet post tonight.
One of my goods friends anniversary is coming up so I played with the Get Sketchy GS #75 Sketch and the colour challenge from Picture Perfect Creations which also happened to be an anniversary theme. (BONUS)

This is what I came up with...

I don't mind it.  I wish my photography was better, as I don't know what those dark marks are near the bottom they are certainly not on the actualy card, and the shadows make my circles look funny.  It's much better in real life.  Just hope my friend likes it.

All products from my stash (you will soon learn I have an extensive stash, as I don't throw anything away and am quite a penny pincher).

Anyways thanks for looking, have a great night wherever you are.

A Birthday

Happy Tuesday blog world...the weekend is fast approaching WOOHOO!!!

As I said in my last post I had a pretty busy weekend. Crafting, cleaning, puppy school and my husbands 42nd birthday.

He had to work so my daughter Tiana and I went crazy with the curling ribbon on his present.

It was too big to wrap so we thought we would make it special by prettying it up a bit.
He knew what he was getting unfortunately only because we would never pick the right one.  Do you know what it is yet....

Wahlah an Ibanez guitar, it's his 4th one and apparently he "needed" it as it sounds different.  I know nothing of these things.  He loves it that's all the matters.

Then there was cake. MMMMMMMMMM yummy

Caramel Chocolate Cheesecake. It was absolutely divine and it went pretty quick! (oh that's Tiana in the background trying to get him to touch the bottom so she could get a kiss, how sweet)

Oh he also got a home made card.

It's another card where I really can't remember what products I have used.  I think there was some TLC papers, Crate papers and the star stamps I bought at a craft fair in a dollar bin.  I did use a sketch, again it was one I printed eons ago, so I can't remember where...if anyone knows let me know.

Anyway I have a couple of challenges I want to do this week, so I should be back later with them, and maybe some more info on this quilt I am making.  It's slowly coming along and should be ready by winter.

I hope everyone is having a fantastic week.  Thanks for looking. Seeya next time.

Red, Black and Green??

Wow....what a busy weekend can't believe it is over and Monday has come and gone too.  I got a bit of crafting done which was good, made 2 cards and finished an embroidered square for a quilt I am making (more of that later).  Oh also had a family lunch for my hubby's birthday and advanced puppy school for my 4 month old pup.

But on to the card....entering this in 2 challenges. I got my colous from the Play Date Cafe colour PDCC69 challenge this week, which is red, black and green. Love the red and black together but the green??? That was a challenge.

To compliment the colours, I used Mojo Monday's sketch 178.

This is what I came up with...

This is for a girlfriend's birthday coming up soon.  She loves red so hopefully she likes this.

Supplies used
  • Kaiser Craft Paper
  • Crate Paper
  • Kaiser Bling
  • AC Cardstock
  • Petaloo Flowers
That's all I can remember.

Anyways thanks for looking, I will be back later with photo's of cake and birthday joy and hubby's birthday card.

Challenge Card

Hello Blog World.

It's finally the weekend so I can finally do more crafting.  I have made a card for a dear friend that lives interstate that I miss terribly.

I am also entering it into a few challenges.  Firstly is CR84FN Color Challenge  using these colours.  Was a little bit of a challenge for me, hopefully I pulled it off.

And to compliment these colours I used a Get Sketchy Card Challenge Sketch.

And I came up with this...

This was made from my stash so I have no idea of what I used, except for the Kaiser Craft pearls.  Sorry I need to take note of what I buy.

This also fall into the 4 Crafty Chicks guidelines for their challenge this week of using fairies/angels and/or butterflies, so I am putting it in that as well.

Thanks for looking and hop over to the challenge blogs to have a look at all the great creations they have to offer.  Very inspirational.

Funky Fabric

Howdy blog world, hope everyone is having a fantastic day.  Me I've got a bit of a tummy bug, but nothing too drastic.

As a crafter, I can't help myself but fall in love with all the pretty pattern papers out there as well as cute embellishments.  They are my weakness (but it's all good as long as hubby doesn't realise just how much I do have).

My other weakness is fabric, just like pattern paper you can get some stunning designs.  I am still pretty new to sewing but I like to give it a bash.  One thing I did make with the help of my sister in law is a book bag.  It's a fabric bag that holds and protects a book and has a built in book mark.  Well when my good friend Ali saw mine she had to have one.

Now Ali is very modern, bright and funky, where as I tend to lean towards more shabby chic and girly patterns.  When I spotted this material at my local sewing shop I knew it was her.

Isn't it just devine!!!!!

So, I got it home and this is what it turned into....

They are so easy to make and the best thing is that they really do protect your books, especially while travelling.  It is my sister in laws design and she does sell them.

Thanks for looking guys and don't forget to leave me comments.

What's in the box??

Firstly Happy Valentine's day to all.  I hope you are having a great day whether you are in love, single or somewhere in between.

Well in my first post (ever) I promised a hand made box.  Well here it is....

I am not entirely happy with the finished product, but it's not too bad either.   I used a fabulous tutorial from Jinky's Craft, my only problem was I was bit over ambitious and tried to enlarge it.  Well problems ensued..my lid is pretty flimsy and I ended up creating hinges with ribbon instead of paper as I just could not get it to work.

Now what's inside you are all asking.  That is the real creation....
Wait for it....
Wait for it....
Wait for it....
WAHLAHHHHHH!!

Bailey's Irish Cream Balls. (Kind of like rum balls but made with Bailey's).
Oh did I forget to mention this was my hubby's Valentine's day gift.  We decided to do something different this year and make each other presents.  I have been having iced coffee cravings for weeks now so what did I get made for me???

3 Litres of home made iced coffee.  I do have to admit it is quite yummy, even better than the bought stuff.

So again Happy V Day, love to my husband after 14 years you still make my heart flutter.

Thanks for Looking :)

A Card and a Fail...

Well I promised a card and a handmade box, well the card was successful. The box not so much.  I think I will show you that later, when it's full of...wait that's another surprise.

Anyway I have entered this card in The Shabby Tea Room's sweet heart challenge.

I'd like to tell you what I have used in this card, but I have a lot scraps and I can't remember where a lot of it came from.  Here is what I do remember though.

  • Imaginisce Papers
  • Imaginisce Brads
  • Heidi Grace Pins
  • Bazzil Bling Cardstock
The flowers are a generic brand I bought from my LSS.

Anyways enjoy and thanks for looking :)

Ready, Willing & Able.....(I Think)

So this is a blog?  Welcome to my first post of my first blog ever!!!  (I know I have a lot of catching up to do).

I have started this to help inspire my creativity side, throughout these posts you will see my craft attempts at a range of crafts like scrapbooking, cardmaking, sewing, painting, drawing, and my newest obssession crocheting.  Sometime's I fail, but it is a learning process after all.

I will be back later with some creations to share, I am working on a card for The Shabby Tea Room's newest challenge, as well as a handmade box for my darling hubby for Valentine's day, what's inside is a surprise for later.

Wish me luck and to anyone who does view this, thankyou and leave a comment or two.  On this shared crafting journey I am hoping to meet new people who share my obsession with crafts, family and life in general.
