My First Fabric Rosette

Hello Blog World,

2 things I have wanted in the last 12 months is learn how to make those fabric rosettes you see everywhere on the net.   So after open day at school where my daughter's team came equal last in her math's trivia (hey least she tried, I know I wouldn't have got a single question right), and after shopping and after footy (YAY my team won again!), I ventured into my craft room and gave these little flowers that have been in my mind a whirl!!

sorry about the shadow, when I finally got to this there was no natural light left.

Not too bad for my first try, (sorry the photo isn't overly spectacular).  The 2nd thing I have wanted is a big flower ring!! Now I have pretty chubby fingers (hehe matches the rest of me) so it can be difficult to find rings that fit, so I always intended on making one just never found the right bit to go with it. I have also been slack and never bought the ring bottoms to motivate me.  But when I stumbled across this blog by Christa and saw how she made her rings a little creative theft was what I did.

I also went into recycle mode as the material is an old pair of hubby's satin boxer shorts where the elastic has gone in them and the elastic for the ring is a hair tie that snapped!!

All in all I am very happy with my first try, there are bits of glue that I can see but I wore it to work today and a colleague absolutely gushed over it and now I have to make her one in red!

Thanks Christa for the fantastic idea and now I am off to make some more  (need the practice before I make one for my friend)

Until then Happy Crafting :)

I'm so glad you tried it out, liked it, and wore it!! It's so fun to be able to make creative things like that, isn't it?! :)
